Not sure why anyone would thumbs down this. Jeff is the epitome of professional. A near perfect session drummer, significantly underrated, and gone way too soon.
One of my favorite groove masters! This man played on so many recordings it’s unbelievable. And the rest of the Toto guys. Gone way too soon! RIP Jeff!
Yep. There was a time cymbals were high, drums were tilted and toms were big and it sounded GREAT! We didn't have every thing flat and with small toms, and life was FUN!
OH YES, SHORT BUT OUTSTANDING FOOTAGE of Jeff Porcaro in all of its primacy! Was it a real album recording or just rehearsal to kill the time. I love how casually another studio giant, Greg Phillinganes passes at 1:50 just waving for the other master doing his magic. I wish those albums had pictures and videos of their recordings, there's hardly any material to see the musicians and engineers working.
I wish there were more like this..Just to be able to see anything with him on it..And now his middle son has passed away..Incredibly sad....A Gretsch Bass drum with Pearl Rack Toms...
It has come out of the momento of KEN NAKAJIMA. Mr. NII was a drummer of a band of KEN NAKAJIMA BAND. Please listen to KEN's music. ruclips.net/video/bR4JW1jFD7k/видео.html
Have a listen to Springsteins 'Human Touch' album where you can hear those beautiful Paiste Signature cymbals Jeff played!! His drumming is incredible on that album :)
Jeff Porcaro realmente foi um grandioso e virtuoso baterista, desejo sorte a você em seus estudos! From Brazil. Elvis Liscano Espindola. 本当に偉大な巨匠のドラマーだった、私はあなたの研究であなたの運が欲しい! ブラジルから。 Elvis Liscano Espindola
Nope. This seems to be that Limited edition Gretsch kit with gold hardware he'd been spotted using for a tonne of recordings. Well, in this video they're just the toms. I could be wrong however.
No.. Gretsch Carpathian Elm edition with gold plated hardware (except for the BD which is a standard US custom).. his favorite kit.. used on 90% of his later recordings.

The man is a legend. I could listen to his playing all night long.
Not that good. Pretty boring.
Tyler_ Terlington You poor fool
Tyler_ Terlington you have no idea what you are talking about.
Cherokee Studios. Worked there for many years in the 90s. Closed in 2007.
Those signature grooves!!Jeff was a master at them!!
これは貴重な映像ありがとう。

So good to see Jeff again. It' so long ago, and yet he's still vibrant and groovy!
i agree. He hasn't aged at all.
ouch, too soon, man
The essence of shuffle-drumming. Jeff nails it. Amazing document, thanks for posting.

Really glad that someone recorded this - and that you posted it. Thanks!
Jeff, the man. He is so good. Great video
This is incredible footage. Thank you for sharing it!
Look how much fun he's having
One of my favorites. An all time best. 80's, and early 90's, it was hit to reach for cymbals. Worked for Jeff
Wish we could hear what he was hearing.....whole body groove, sensitivity, touch, the pocket.....
I always thought it was interesting that Jeff once said he never played solo's.
Looks like his Gretsch kit with Pearl tom mounts and the DR-1 Pearl rack. Great sounding room and drums. Between Jeff and Gadd, that's all I need.

The best drummer for me,
It's copied as an example, but even if it's done, I can't reach.
Thanks for sharing ❤️

Magical touch!
He is playing bass drum heel down. Never saw him do that before.
I feel like the groove drummers are able to let the groove breath by barely sneaking that backbeat in before it’s too late.
Jeff loves to draw! RIP.
Jeff the best ever!
Dude that made my day that lick at the end that ya never ever heard him overplay too much was awesome!
Jeff era talentoso y guapísimo
Jeff...great guy...RIP

Christiane Blablubblabla huhhh?? He played on hundreds of records.
With authority!
Fire!!
Kit is awesome. Appears to be Gretsch(badge on top of bass drum)
This is looks like around the time that the Paiste Signature Series cymbals were introduced.
Have a listen to Springsteins 'Human Touch' album where you can hear those beautiful Paiste Signature cymbals Jeff played!! His drumming is incredible on that album :)
Jeff designed the logo for the Signature series.
These chains
Adelantado para su época 🙏🏻
Those Matt Garstka Glasses from 2018 sure helped
Groove Master
Sad one of his son's just passed away. 31 years old.
Thanks for info.
Really? How sad that Jeff's son also died in his 30's, although I don't know the reason for his death. What a grief :(
Nancy Marlette: What happened n
to Jeff's son?
Oh my god...
Why does the person who has the aptitude go to heaven so early?
jukejone Coke
followup question, why is Mick Fleetwood still alive then
because he's tough completely.
Peter Green too. Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton etc.
because is a God Gift
He died from a heart attack. It is believed he had an allergic reaction to insecticide.
Fool in the rain ?
Uow Jeff !!!

Precisely. .The situation of that time will be searched. I guess It may take time, though.

Isnt that culture clubs drummer on Jeffs kit at the end?
สุดยอด
is that Steve Jordan at 1.50 ?
He plays the keyboards. he is not Steve.
It's Greg Phillinganes I think.
it is indeed Greg Phillinganes
Raul Rekow?
😭
Jeff.....
Brady drum kit???
